International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDoV) | is a global event celebrated worldwide on March 31 annually aiming the resilience and success of transgender and gender nonconforming people and raises awareness of transgender rights.

The day marks an effort to honor the achievements and contributions of transgender people for the society development in terms of science, art , literature , technology and more.

As we celebrate (TDoV), we must never forget those who still feel invisible even in their own communities and who may live every day with fear of discrimination or violence, and we must resolve to fight for a world where every transgender and non-binary person is respected and protected

Alphonso David, president of the LGBTQ advocacy group

International Transgender Day of Visibility urges participants post selfies, personal stories, and statistics regarding transgender issues and other related content to raise awareness and increase visibility worldwide.

Transgender, often shortened as trans, is also an umbrella term; in addition to including people whose gender identity is the opposite of their assigned sex (trans men and trans women), it may include people who are not exclusively masculine or feminine (people who are non-binary or genderqueer, including bigender, pangender, genderfluid, or agender). Other definitions of transgender also include people who belong to a third gender, or else conceptualize transgender people as a third gender. The term transgender may be defined very broadly to include cross-dressers.
