Overview of the function of the post
YUWA is seeking a Program Manager who will oversees and is responsible for the work and results of multiple teams. Program Manager will perform wider landscape of goals, being responsible and accountable to upper-level stakeholders in the organization I.e., Members and Executive board. Program managers need the ability to clearly instruct project coordinators and their team members and relay updates and progress information to committees, Executive board, and other management. A program manager should understand details and technical aspects of specific projects. Program manager job description requires the professional to distinguish between those crucial details that affect the program and those that do not. These discernment skills allow the program manager to concentrate on addressing those issues that might derail the organization’s programs and goals. The program manager ensures the work and projects performed align with the program or goals of the organization. Program managers face issues such as staff or supply shortages, damage to equipment or security risks. Roles and responsibilities for Program Manager YUWA ngo jobs
- Managing staff and overseeing the day-to-day activities of the staffs and office work and overall supervision of project activities
- Report overall office activities and progresses to the Executive Board.
- Lead the development of work plans, periodical work sessions, and staff meetings and hold orientation seminar for new team members.
- Prepare funding proposals and identify funding opportunities with partners and donors in collaboration with the unit coordinators, staff and executive Board.
- Conduct periodic performance appraisal and training needs assessment of program staffs.
- Develop and recommend annual training/capacity-building plan based on programmatic priorities.
- Facilitate program coordinators and project team leaders in Project Cycle Management, project proposal writing and project report writing and conduction of the in house.
- Initiating different in-house programs and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues arise.
- Establish, develop, and maintain a network of contacts and good working relations with stakeholders, donors and important government partners including relevant Ministries and related line agencies.
- Work closely with Administration and Finance Unit on matters related to administration and finance such as budgets, development and revision of MOU and agreements with partners and beneficiaries.
- Support unit coordinators in recruitment of program staff
- Report progress of work, goals, problems and other issues to Executive board or committees responsible for oversight.
- Purchase or request or work with project/program coordinators to purchase or request needed supplies, equipment or services within budgets or limits set by executive board or the organization.
- Formulate and implement plans for recovery, alteration of work or otherwise handling emergencies, disruptions of programs or project schedules and unanticipated events.
- Track performance of members of various project teams or groups to assess compliance with budgetary, time and other requirements.

- A bachelor’s degree in development studies, public administration, sociology, gender, Public Health, International development or other social science (Fresher’s are encouraged to apply)
- At least 1 years of experience in Program management
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project teams.
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
- Strong management skills including ability to provide strategic guidance, technical oversight, build strong teams, mentor staff, and develop work plans.
- Demonstrated written, analytical, presentation, reporting and computing skills and familiarity with modern communication systems (internet, worldwide web, email etc.)
- Good interpersonal skills with experience in networking with partners at all levels (Local government, donors, private sector, NGOs and local community-based organizations)
- The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
- Excellent oral and written communications in English and Nepali
- Is youth-friendly and has non-discriminatory attitudes towards working with young people
