The ongoing pandemic has disturbed our lifestyle and day to day activities. After the long four months lockdown, adopting the safety measures from the government, we have returned to back to daily lives known as ” THE NEW NORMAL”. Recently WHO has initiated #WEARAMASK challenges as a strategic measure to control transmission.
By wearing a mask, you are sending a message of solidarity and protecting people, especially those most vulnerable, from COVID-19.-WHO
Masks alone will not stop the virus – we must 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹:
- Wear a mask that covers your nose, mouth and chin
- Keep physical distance
- Clean your hands
- Keep away from big crowds
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing
Behind the mask #WEARAMASK
A surgical mask also filters out large particles within the air. Surgical masks may protect others by reducing exposure to the saliva and respiratory secretions of the mask wearer
Mask gained its popularity and usage in this COVID 19 pandemic. Various Mask are available with variety of efficiency and permeability to the microbes. Common mask available to the public are N-95/K-95 mask, Surgical mask and fabric/Cloth mask . But these mask have differences in prices, efficiency and sustainability
Masks protect the people wearing them and the people around them
There’s enough evidence to say that the best benefit is for people who have COVID-19 to protect them from giving COVID-19 to other people, but you’re still going to get a benefit from wearing a mask if you don’t have COVID-19.
Masks may be more effective as a “source control” because they can prevent larger expelled droplets from evaporating into smaller droplets that can travel farther.
Another factor to remember, noted Rutherford, is that you could still catch the virus through the membranes in your eyes, a risk that masking does not eliminate.
Take a photo or a video of yourself wearing a mask, share it and nominate friends to do the same. #WEARAMASK
We are the ones that can end this pandemic!
