(BASE) organization Backward Society Education is a leading NGO officially registered in 1991 in Dang with DAO and SWC. BASE has been working in the field of WASH, education, livelihood support, child labor elimination, women empowerment, income generation, conflict mitigation, environmental sustainability, disaster preparedness and response, infrastructure support and protection and promotion of traditional indigenous culture as well as increasingly working with beneficiaries from other marginalized communities. BASE is currently working in health and recovery programs in Kailali districts of Nepal.

BASE would like to implement its anticipated project on COVID-19 recovery focusing on health and livelihood to combat the causes and consequences of COVID-19 focusing on migrant returnees, Dalit, marginalized and vulnerable communities in the districts. BASE is looking for qualified, skilled, service oriented, and committed Nepali citizens who share our vision, missions and values. The positions are subject to funding availability and donor approval.

1.   Position: Project Coordinator

Required No: 1

Location: Kailali District

Purpose of the Job: 

Project Coordinator will lead the project and be responsible and work as a health and livelihood technical resource person. This position is expected to perform about quality program planning and implementation, staff management in the field with necessary coordination with the provincial or local levels such as district, municipality and report to the Executive Director and the donor.

Required Qualification, Experience and Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Agriculture, Social Science, or related discipline with minimum of 5 years of experience including field experience or master’s degree in the above disciplines with minimum of 3years of experience in health and livelihood.
  • Prior experience of working in COVID response or recovery will be preferred. 
  • Experience in community livelihood and health related projects at the field level with relevant trainings
  • Prior experience on project monitoring, evaluation, and learning
  • Strong reports and case studies writing skills in English and Nepali
  • Strong linkage, networking and communication skills
  • Understanding of project management cycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and build capacity of others. 
  • Strong interpersonal skill and good written and spoken communication skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively to working areas/Palikas. 

2.  Position: Project Officer

Required No: 1

Location: Kailali District

Purpose of the Job: 

Project Officer will be responsible to provide technical inputs to the project and support the Project Coordinator and the team in executing project interventions. The officer will also be responsible for coordination with the local levels and support the monitoring activities of the project and contribute to the project team for project management in the field with necessary coordination at local levels.

Required Qualification, Experience and Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health (BPH) or Agricultural Science (B.Sc. Ag) or Social Science with minimum of 3years of experience in health, livelihood and resilience related work in NGO/INGO settings
  • Prior experience on conducting training, orientation, meetings and workshop 
  • Prior technical expertise preferably in health or agriculture or COVID-19 management
  • Prior experience of working in COVID response or recovery will be preferred. 
  • Experience in community livelihood and health related projects at the field level with relevant trainings and experience in project implementation 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with good written and spoken communication skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Willing and able to travel extensively to working areas/Palikas.
  • Prior experience in case study preparation, data management, monitoring and learning 

3.   Position: Finance Officer

Required No: 1

Location: Kailali District

Purpose of the Job: 

Finance Officer will be responsible for the administrative and financial management of the project by preparing financial reports, tracking of activities and expenses and liaising with the donor on financial and operational issues.  The officer will perform account management, ledger update, bill collection, voucher preparation, release of fund as demanded by project, dealing for quotation, prepare and financial reports

Required Qualification, Experience and Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in business studies (BBS) with 3 years of experience in project accounting,
  • Minimum of three years of experience on accounting, financial management, donor reporting and administration 
  • Advanced computer skill in office package particular in MS Excel. 
  • Good knowledge of use of computerized accounting packages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Good written and spoken communication skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Prior experience on preparing financial management reporting
  • Prior experience of conducting or managing financial project audits 

4.  Position: Agriculture Technician (JT/JTAs)

Required No: 3

Location: Kailali District

Purpose of the Job: 

Agriculture Technician (JT/JTAs)will be responsible to facilitate the project activities at the community level in coordination with the local levels. S/he will support in finalizing the item specification, technical support to program and supporting trainings and provide overall support to theteam for project execution.

Qualification

  • Qualification in ISC. Ag. or 15 months of JTA course in CTEVT with 3 years of work experience
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Strong technical skills in agriculture crop production and management and supporting for the livelihoods of the poor and marginalized people. 
  • Prior experience of working in COVID response 
  • Willing and able to travel extensively to working areas/Palikas. 
  • Candidates from the local areas with knowledge on local language in the working areas will be preferred 

5.   Position: Health Assistant / Auxiliary Nurse midwife (ANM)

Required No: 3

Location: Kailali District

Purpose of the Job: 

Health Assistant / Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)will be responsible to facilitate the project activities at the community level in coordination with the local levels. S/he will support in finalizing the item specification, technical support to program, support trainings, and support to the team for project execution.

Qualification

  • Academic qualification in HA/Certificate level in General Medicine or ANM course with 3 years of work experience and registered with their respective council.
  • Prior experience of working in COVID-19 response and health or livelihood related projects will be preferred. 
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Willing and able to travel extensively to working areas/Palikas. 
  • Candidates from the local areas with knowledge on local language in the working areas will be preferred.
